Meet the person behind the work

One person, accountable from start to finish.

Hi, I’m Josh. I own and run Fowler’s Webworks, Fowler’s FastFit and Blazed Gaming North East, and I personally handle the planning, design, build, launch and ongoing care of every Webworks project.

Running businesses myself shapes how I approach websites: as practical infrastructure that must earn its keep, save time and stay manageable during a busy working day.

The process

Simple from start to finish.

You don’t need to understand websites. That’s our job. We guide you through each step in plain English.

  1. 01

    Tell us what you need

We learn about your business, customers and what the website needs to achieve.

  2. 02

    We build it

Your site is designed around your business, then shared privately for your feedback.

  3. 03

    We launch it

Once you’re happy, we connect the domain, test everything and put the site live.

  4. 04

    We look after it

Hosting, maintenance and support continue after launch, so you’re never left stranded.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you start.

No technical knowledge is needed. We explain everything clearly and handle the setup with you.

Do I need to already own a domain name?

No. We can connect a domain you already own or help you choose and register a new one. Your domain should be registered in your name wherever possible, so you remain in control of it.

What does the £40 monthly hosting include?

It includes secure managed hosting, SSL, monitoring, backups, technical maintenance, direct support and reasonable small content updates. Domain renewals, email licences and fees charged by outside providers are separate.

Who owns my website and information?

You own your business content, uploaded images, customer information and domain. Once the agreed setup invoice is paid, the finished website is yours to use. Fowler’s Webworks retains ownership of reusable development tools and components that are not unique to one customer.

Can I ask for updates after launch?

Yes. Reasonable small text, image and contact-detail changes are included with managed hosting. New pages, redesigns, integrations or larger features will be discussed and quoted before any extra work begins.

Can I cancel the hosting?

Yes. There is no long fixed-term contract. Hosting can be cancelled with 30 days’ notice. We will explain your options for the domain and website content before the hosting service ends, so there are no surprises.

How long does a website take?

Most one-page and small-business websites take around one to two weeks once we have your wording, images and approval. Larger websites, shops, booking workflows and private dashboards usually take three to six weeks depending on their complexity.

What do I need to provide before you start?

Usually we need your business details, services, contact information, logo and any photographs or wording you already have. If you are unsure, we will help you plan what is needed before the build begins.

Will my website work properly on phones?

Yes. Every website is designed for mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers. We pay particular attention to mobile navigation, readable text, fast loading and making forms easy to complete.

Will my website appear on Google?

We build search-friendly foundations, including clear page structure, titles, descriptions and good performance. No web designer can honestly guarantee a particular Google position. Ongoing SEO campaigns and paid advertising are separate services.

Can you write the wording and provide images?

Yes. Copywriting is available as an optional extra, and we can help select suitable customer-supplied or properly licensed images. Any paid photography, stock-image or licensing cost will always be agreed first.

Can I update the website myself?

Where it makes sense, we can provide an editing area for content you need to change regularly. Many customers prefer us to handle small updates through the hosting plan, so they cannot accidentally disturb the design.

Can you redesign my existing website?

Yes. We can review what you already have, keep the useful content and rebuild the presentation or functionality. We will also plan the changeover carefully to protect your existing domain and business email wherever possible.

Can an online shop accept card payments?

Yes. Shops can be connected to established payment providers such as Stripe or PayPal. The provider may require account verification and will charge its own transaction fees, which are separate from our website and hosting prices.

How do payments work, and are there hidden charges?

A 50% deposit normally secures the project, with the remaining balance due before launch. Your final quote explains what is included. Any larger change or outside cost, such as a domain, email licence or paid integration, is discussed before you are charged.
